How can Illustrated Storytelling improve the cognitive empathy in children with Asperger's ?
The next Project aimed to investigate which type of illustrated sources and strategies were able to ease the understanding of non-literal language for those children presenting Asperger disorder
Methodology:
Mix methodology: Qualitative and Quantitative
Techniques:
In depth interviews with psychologists
Visual research with 2 groups of children : 19 neurotypical and 19 with Asperger's disorder
Semiotics analysis of two picture books ( one addressed to neurotypical children and another addressed to children with autism.
Outcome:
A picture book: " The purple balloon", in which the script , the characters' design and the image composition were created according the insights obtained from the previous research and triangulation.
"Greeting Cards and self-esteem"


R, Q:
How can greeting cards boost the self-esteem in children?
The goal of this Research was to discover techniques and ways in which Greeting Cards could boost the self-esteem and increase the optimism and motivation in children between 7-12 year olds.
This Project was focused in a Qualitative methodology, making a triangulation between Data obtained from Secondary Research and details compiled by a Primary Research. The methods encompassed by this Primary Research included:

-Observation in stores,
-A qualitative experiment in cartoon characters practice
- Literature review.

Outcome:
Several greeting cards samples with cartoon characters representing the "cute" , "goofy" and the "screwball" prototypes, avoiding the "pugnacious"archetype .
​
All of them were containing a blank space and sentences willing to be completed by the customer or consumer to personalise the gift and empower the awareness and motivation of the child.
